IQM CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE

We are absolutely delighted to share the school’s achievement of the Inclusion Quality Mark’s Centre of Excellence status. Over the past two years Oakfield has been working hard completing the Inclusion Quality Mark framework and collecting evidence to support our journey to achieving the IQM Award.
In June 2025, an accessor inspected our school, observed our classes, met with teachers, children, parents, governors and other professionals who support inclusion within our school. We were delighted to hear that we achieved the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) and during the assessment the assessor shared that they felt we could be successful in gaining the prestigious title as IQM Centre of Excellence! We are thrilled and proud of our school report which recognises our commitment to inclusivity,
School leaders are committed to fostering a community in which every individual feels
valued, respected, and supported. The team at Oakfield Primary is dedicated to
fostering a true sense of belonging, where every child feels safe, valued, and confident in their identity as a member of ‘The Oakfield family.” This inclusive ethos underpins the school’s work to ensure that all pupils feel “at home” within the school community.
During the assessment it was clear that all stakeholders and members of this school
community share the view that they are a part of ‘The Oakfield Family’.
One member of staff stated that “it is a pleasure to come to work, to be part of this community - you have a say, you are part of it.” This feeling was echoed by external partners and
stakeholders who visit the school regularly for various reasons. Families too feel valued and heard.
There is a clear focus on recognising and responding to the individual needs of each pupil. Staff are dedicated to nurturing every child’s personal and academic development, creating an environment where children are encouraged to take risks, embrace challenges, and understand that making mistakes is an important part of the
learning process.
Pupils are supported to develop resilience, independence, and a
growth mindset - learning to persevere through difficulties and draw on the support available to them.
The school promotes a culture of high expectations within a nurturing and supportive framework. Through this, pupils are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and are empowered to achieve their personal best.
The dedicated team at Oakfield are proud of the culture they have built, one of
compassion, consistency, and connection. It is a school where children are known, nurtured, and empowered to become the very best version of themselves. And, through its unwavering commitment to inclusive values and strong community links, Oakfield continues to live up to its identity: A family for learning, a family for all.
