P.E Physical Education

Each year group ensures that children get at least 2 hours of physical education per week, not only does this help with their physical well being but it helps to build on their own confidence and encourages team work throughout. Here at Oakfield we are proud offer children a wide range of clubs, competitions and sports activities both within and outside of school.

Children in KS2 have the opportunity to take part in swimming lessons to develop their confidence in the water.

We have a fantastic partnership with The Widnes Vikings and as part of that partnership, a member of the schools team visits each week to work with a year group for the afternoon. They carry out sessions that include rugby skills, multi skills sessions and healthy attitudes.

All children enjoy being outside and this plays a huge part in their development, children are involved in the daily mile and are able to practice skills they have learnt, challenging themselves to balance on our trim trail or simply playing their own competitive games with friends. We are proud of our extensive outdoor areas and we know that the children appreciate and enjoy them too. Forest School also has a big part to play in our outdoor physical activity, as the children have the chance to play and learn in our unique Forest School area.

We use 'Get Set PE' to support our curriculum deisgn which matches our vision and targeted outcomes.
